God's Gift

This week I have been reading Ephesians. This letter was written by the Apostle Paul, around 60 AD, to the church in Ephesus an important trade city in modern day Turkey. Paul wrote this letter to help them better understand God’s ‘big’ purposes for His church. In chapter 2 he told them of the remarkable grace that God has for people...

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
— Ephesians 2:8-9 The NLT Bible

These words still stand today! No human effort can earn salvation. It is only possible because of God’s grace, his never ceasing goodness and kindness towards undeserving people. This is the gift that keeps on giving. We don’t deserve it, and we can’t earn it. We are reliant and indebted to a loving benevolent God! Today, remember and rejoice that God is for you and not against you. You have been saved by this amazing grace!
