The Collection
I have a problem. I love movies! Over the last few years, I have collected rather a lot on DVD, which take up a lot of space in my study. My kids think I’m so old fashioned, having a ‘physical copy’ of a film that can be found somewhere online!
I love to rummage in second hand shops for films, be that old and unusual, or classic blockbusters!
Now that shops are reopening, I decided I needed to get rid of some, and donate them to a local charity shop. That’s when my problem started: which films do I get rid of? I soon realised that I wanted to keep them all.
They span decades, black & white as well as colour, and they are all so different: action, comedy, drama, thriller, documentary, tragedy, disaster, musical and even the odd romantic ‘picture’. They each have something unique in them that I love!
Then it hit me: this is just how God views us! We are all very different people but are valued and loved...
I took a minute to reflect, it was one of those ‘eureka’ moments. I was overwhelmed, filled with joy and gratitude that God really does love and care for me! And, my friends, it’s just the same for you!
God wants, and has room, for a big collection of people!
My problem became one of those God moments! For those who want to know, I have selected some DVD films for the charity shop and still pondering over a few more...prayer appreciated!
