This week I have been reading Exodus. God used Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt where they had been for 400 years! Once they were out of Egypt Moses father in law, Jethro, came to see him. He saw Moses dealing with all the disputes amongst the people and offered some advice...

You are not doing this right. You and the people who come to you will get too tired. This is too much work for you; you can’t do it by yourself. But choose some capable men from among the people, men who respect God, who can be trusted, and who will not change their decisions for money. Make these men officers over the people, to rule over groups of thousands, hundreds, fifties, and tens.
— Exodus 18:17, 21 The NCV Bible

Moses was God’s leader, and he had already done remarkable things in freeing the Israelites. Here, Jethro saw what was going on and he told Moses to change what he was doing. Moses listened and did everything he said. I love this story as it shows us that Moses was not a super-hero. He heard the advice his father in law said and applied it. Also, God did not give these instructions directly to Moses but worked through Jethro too! Godly wisdom can come directly from God, but also from wise people around us. Be ready as you may have an opportunity to receive of give son Godly wisdom...
