The Holy Spirit in the New Testament
It was a blockbuster this week! Andy & Diane Taylor joined Gary Bastin where Diane read the comments a did a quiz about for Hope Kids. There was some big news about our youth pastor. The Greenhalgh family led us in praise which included dressing up and dinosaurs! Catherine Sherwood told us about someone has inspired her in 'Holy Spirit Histories' before Andy Taylor spoke insightfully about the Holy Spirit in the New Testament and poured three bottles of Guinness!
Here are this week’s questions:
1. What experiences can you share of the Holy Spirit in your own life?
2. In Matthew 3;11, John the Baptist declares, "I baptise you with water for repentance. But, after me will come one more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and with fire." What do you think John meant by the phrase, "He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and with fire."?
3. On several occasions, Paul speaks of our being temples of the Holy Spirit, both individually (1 Cor.6:19) and together (2 Cor. 6:16; Ephes. 2:20-22). This is a lovely idea, but, considering the role and nature of the temple in the Old Testament, what do you think it means for us in practice?
