Motivation
It’s been another week of big headlines in the UK! Firstly, we witnessed the collapse of Thomas Cook, the international travel company founded in 1841. This left thousands of people without jobs as well even more stranded on holiday. Secondly, the Supreme Court ruled that Boris Johnson’s suspension of Parliament was unlawful. MPs were called back to the House of Commons immediately with accusations flying! Whilst observing all this I read in the letter to the church in Philippi, in the Bible...
The headlines tell us that some top executives did very well financially before Thomas Cook crashed, and the nation seems divided over Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s actions. However, these Bible verses tell of the importance of our motives for our actions. This is vital if we are doing something that will affect other people! Our heart motivation is what really matters. I wonder what things would look like if heads of big corporations and Members of Parliament followed this Biblical teaching? And, more personally, what does that look like for you and me?
