An Undivided Heart
Last Sunday at our church gathering, our young people did a brilliant job talking about King Solomon. They pointed out that Solomon started well as he asked for God’s wisdom. However later on in life he abandoned that wisdom, married loads of women and he lost his focus on the LORD. Then I read this in Psalm 86...
Solomon’s heart was divided and that was is downfall. This Psalm, written by his father King David, is a prayer. David asked God to be his teacher, humbling himself as the student or ‘learner’. He then went on to ask for an undivided heart - one which was totally committed to God. I believe this verse is key for living today. So many things can take our focus away from God. Good news, help is at hand. Join me and pray Psalm 86:11 - God today, please be my teacher and give me an undivided heart. Amen.
